About your attorney
Jade Edwards-Cureau has been a licensed attorney since 2006, focusing her practice almost exclusively on family law. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan–Flint and her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law. In 2009, she was honored with the Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award by the State Bar of Michigan. She later served on the Executive Council of the State Bar’s Young Lawyers Section and remains an active member of the Family Law Section.

Jade’s professional experience is both broad and deep. She has dedicated her career to child custody, divorce, and child welfare matters, serving not only as an attorney but also as a mediator in domestic relations cases and as a Guardian ad Litem in child welfare, custody, and divorce proceedings. She has further contributed to the legal system by working as a referee in Oakland County, presiding over and making recommendations in complex family law matters.
Prior to establishing her private practice, Jade clerked for the Honorable Duncan M. Beagle in the Genesee County Family Court and practiced with The Williams Firm, P.C., where she gained additional experience in labor, employment, and family law. She has been an active member of numerous professional associations, including the Genesee County Bar Association (where she served on the Board of Directors), the Mallory VanDyne Scott Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, and the American Bar Association, where she contributed to several committees. She has also shared her expertise as a faculty presenter for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Family Law Institute.
With two decades of family law experience, Jade brings both compassion and tenacity to her practice. She is skilled at assessing whether a case is best suited for amicable resolution or prepared for litigation, tailoring her strategies accordingly. Clients value her ability to anticipate challenges, provide practical solutions, and advocate fiercely when necessary.
Outside of the courtroom, Jade finds fulfillment in mentoring through Big Brothers/Big Sisters and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
